The journal describes tour events and performances in the midwest cities of Louisville, Ky.; Madison, Ind.; and Cincinnati, Ohio.

Caroline Cornelia Barnum was the daughter of impresario P.T. Barnum. In 1849 Jenny Lind, "the Swedish Nightingale," contracted for an American concert tour with P.T.
